Peristiwa ini berlaku pada zaman Ahasyweros yang memerintah seratus dua puluh tujuh buah wilayah dari India hingga Ethiopia

Maka para jurutulis raja dipanggil pada ketika itu juga iaitu pada hari kedua puluh tiga dalam bulan ketiga iaitu bulan Siwan Maka semua yang diarahkan oleh Mordekhai itu ditulislah dalam surat kepada orang Yahudi dan juga kepada para wakil raja para pembesar dan para pegawai wilayah dari India sampai ke Ethiopia seratus dua puluh tujuh wilayah semuanya setiap wilayah menurut tulisannya setiap bangsa menurut bahasanya dan kepada orang Yahudi menurut tulisan dan bahasa mereka

Manikam kuning dari Ethiopia pun tidak dapat disejajarkan dengannya ia tidak dapat dinilai dengan emas tulen
