Segera sesudah seluruh Israel mendengar bahwa Yerobeam sudah pulang maka mereka menyuruh memanggil dia ke pertemuan jemaah lalu mereka menobatkan dia menjadi raja atas seluruh Israel Tidak ada lagi yang mengikuti keluarga Daud selain dari suku Yehuda saja
