Lalu katanya Engkau sendiri tahu bahwa akulah yang berhak atas kedudukan raja dan bahwa seluruh Israel mengharapkan supaya aku menjadi raja tetapi sebaliknya kedudukan raja jatuh kepada adikku sebab dari Tuhanlah ia mendapatnya

AV: And he said <0559> (8799), Thou knowest <03045> (8804) that the kingdom <04410> was mine, and [that] all Israel <03478> set <07760> (8804) their faces <06440> on me, that I should reign <04427> (8800): howbeit the kingdom <04410> is turned about <05437> (8735), and is become my brother's <0251>: for it was his from the LORD <03068>.
