Segera sesudah Laban mendengar kabar tentang Yakub anak saudaranya itu berlarilah ia menyongsong dia lalu mendekap dan mencium dia kemudian membawanya ke rumahnya Maka Yakub menceritakan segala hal ihwalnya kepada Laban

Lalu saudara-saudara ibunya mengatakan hal ihwalnya kepada seluruh warga kota Sikhem maka condonglah hati orang-orang itu untuk mengikuti Abimelekh sebab kata mereka Memang ia saudara kita
