Tanyakanlah kepada orang-orangmu mereka tentu akan memberitahukan kepadamu Sebab itu biarlah orang-orang ini mendapat belas kasihanmu bukankah kami ini datang pada hari raya Berikanlah kepada hamba-hambamu ini dan kepada anakmu Daud apa yang ada padamu

Berkatalah Daud kepada Akhis Jika kiranya aku mendapat belas kasihanmu biarlah diberikan kepadaku tempat di salah satu kota di tanah datar supaya aku tinggal di sana Mengapa hambamu ini tinggal padamu di kota kerajaan ini
