Sampai hari matinya Samuel tidak melihat Saul lagi tetapi Samuel berdukacita karena Saul Dan TUHAN menyesal karena Ia menjadikan Saul raja atas Israel

Berfirmanlah TUHAN kepada Samuel Berapa lama lagi engkau berdukacita karena Saul Bukankah ia telah Kutolak sebagai raja atas Israel Isilah tabung tandukmu dengan minyak dan pergilah Aku mengutus engkau kepada Isai orang Betlehem itu sebab di antara anak-anaknya telah Kupilih seorang raja bagi-Ku

Absalom telah melarikan diri dan telah pergi kepada Talmai bin Amihur raja negeri Gesur Dan Daud berdukacita berhari-hari lamanya karena anaknya itu

Waktunya datang harinya mendekat Biarlah si pembeli jangan bergembira dan biarlah si penjual jangan berdukacita karena kehangatan murka tertimpa atas segala kegemparan mereka
