Sejak saat tabut itu tinggal di Kiryat-Yearim berlalulah waktu yang cukup lama yakni dua puluh tahun dan seluruh kaum Israel mengeluh kepada TUHAN

Lalu datanglah seseorang mengabarkan kepada Daud katanya Hati orang Israel telah condong kepada Absalom

Sebab pada waktu Salomo sudah tua isteri-isterinya itu mencondongkan hatinya kepada allah-allah lain sehingga ia tidak dengan sepenuh hati berpaut kepada TUHAN Allahnya seperti Daud ayahnya

Dan bagi kaum Israel mereka tidak lagi menjadi kepercayaan yang mengingatkan kesalahan Israel kalau Israel berpaling kepada mereka untuk meminta pertolongan Dan Mesir akan mengetahui bahwa Akulah Tuhan ALLAH
