Karena daerah bani Dan telah menjadi terlalu sempit untuk mereka maka berjalanlah bani Dan itu maju dan berperang melawan kota Lesem Mereka merebutnya memarang penduduknya dengan mata pedang dan mendudukinya Lalu menetaplah mereka di sana dan menamai Lesem itu Dan menurut nama Dan bapa leluhur mereka

Mereka menamai kota itu Dan menurut nama bapa leluhur mereka yakni Dan yang lahir bagi Israel tetapi nama kota itu dahulu adalah Lais

Itulah jabatan mereka dalam menyelenggarakan ibadah setelah mereka masuk rumah TUHAN sesuai dengan peraturan yang diberikan kepada mereka dengan perantaraan Harun bapa leluhur mereka seperti yang diperintahkan kepadanya oleh TUHAN Allah Israel

Tetapi mereka menjawab Kami tidak minum anggur sebab Yonadab bin Rekhab bapa leluhur kami telah memberi perintah kepada kami katanya Janganlah kamu atau anak-anakmupun minum anggur sampai selama-lamanya

melainkan kami diam di kemah-kemah dan taat melakukan tepat seperti yang diperintahkan kepada kami oleh Yonadab bapa leluhur kami

Memang perintah Yonadab bin Rekhab itu masih ditepati ia telah memerintahkan kepada keturunannya supaya mereka jangan minum anggur dan sampai sekarang ini mereka tidak meminumnya sebab mereka mendengarkan perintah bapa leluhur mereka Aku sendiri telah berbicara kepada kamu terus-menerus tetapi kamu tidak mendengarkan Aku
