Tetapi apabila seseorang pada waktu mendengar perkataan sumpah serapah ini menyangka dirinya tetap diberkati dengan berkata Aku akan selamat walaupun aku berlaku degil dengan demikian dilenyapkannya baik tanah yang kegenangan maupun yang kekeringan

Deuteronomy 29:20

maka TUHAN tidak akan mau mengampuni orang itu tetapi murka dan cemburu TUHAN akan menyala atasnya pada waktu itu segenap sumpah serapah yang tertulis dalam kitab ini akan menghinggapi dia dan TUHAN akan menghapuskan namanya dari kolong langit

TUHAN akan memisahkan orang itu dari segala suku Israel supaya dia mendapat celaka sesuai dengan segala sumpah serapah perjanjian yang tertulis dalam kitab hukum Taurat ini
