Deuteronomy 20:19

Apabila dalam memerangi suatu kota engkau lama mengepungnya untuk direbut maka tidak boleh engkau merusakkan pohon-pohon sekelilingnya dengan mengayunkan kapak kepadanya buahnya boleh kaumakan tetapi batangnya janganlah kautebang sebab pohon yang di padang itu bukan manusia jadi tidak patut ikut kaukepung

Hanya pohon-pohon yang engkau tahu tidak menghasilkan makanan boleh kaurusakkan dan kautebang untuk mendirikan pagar pengepungan terhadap kota yang berperang melawan engkau sampai kota itu jatuh
