Adapun negeri itu telah kita duduki pada waktu itu mulai dari Aroer yang di tepi sungai Arnon beserta setengah dari pegunungan Gilead dengan kota-kotanya aku berikan kepada orang Ruben dan orang Gad

Segenap jalan yang diperintahkan kepadamu oleh TUHAN Allahmu haruslah kamu jalani supaya kamu hidup dan baik keadaanmu serta lanjut umurmu di negeri yang akan kamu duduki

Kamu harus memusnahkan sama sekali segala tempat di mana bangsa-bangsa yang daerahnya kamu duduki itu beribadah kepada allah mereka yakni di gunung-gunung yang tinggi di bukit-bukit dan di bawah setiap pohon yang rimbun

Nehemiah 9:22

Engkau menyerahkan kepada mereka kerajaan-kerajaan dan bangsa-bangsa dan membagikan itu kepada mereka sebagai daerah perbatasan sebab mereka duduki tanah dari Sihon raja negeri Hesbon dan tanah dari Og raja negeri Basan
