Ketika orang Israel ada di padang gurun didapati merekalah seorang yang mengumpulkan kayu api pada hari Sabat

Lalu orang-orang yang mendapati dia sedang mengumpulkan kayu api itu menghadapkan dia kepada Musa dan Harun dan segenap umat itu

Lalu turunlah api TUHAN menyambar habis korban bakaran kayu api batu dan tanah itu bahkan air yang dalam parit itu habis dijilatnya

Pula dengan membuang undi kami yakni para imam orang-orang Lewi dan kaum awam menetapkan suatu cara untuk menyediakan kayu api Kayu itu harus dibawa ke rumah Allah kami secara bergilir oleh kaum-kaum keluarga kami pada waktu-waktu tertentu setiap tahun supaya di atas mezbah TUHAN Allah kami ada api yang menyala seperti tertulis dalam kitab Taurat

pula kutetapkan suatu cara untuk menyediakan kayu api pada waktu-waktu tertentu dan untuk hasil-hasil yang pertama Ya Allahku ingatlah kepadaku demi kesejahteraanku
