Perkataan yang dinyatakan kepada Amos salah seorang peternak domba dari Tekoa tentang Israel pada zaman Uzia raja Yehuda dan dalam zaman Yerobeam anak Yoas raja Israel dua tahun sebelum gempa bumi

Amos 7:8

Lalu berfirmanlah TUHAN kepadaku Apakah yang kaulihat Amos Jawabku Tali sipat Berfirmanlah Tuhan Sesungguhnya Aku akan menaruh tali sipat di tengah-tengah umat-Ku Israel Aku tidak akan memaafkannya lagi

Sebab beginilah dikatakan Amos Yerobeam akan mati terbunuh oleh pedang dan Israel pasti pergi dari tanahnya sebagai orang buangan

Amos 7:12

Lalu berkatalah Amazia kepada Amos Pelihat pergilah enyahlah ke tanah Yehuda Carilah makananmu di sana dan bernubuatlah di sana

Lalu berfirmanlah Ia Apakah yang kaulihat Amos Jawabku Sebuah bakul berisi buah-buahan musim kemarau Berfirmanlah TUHAN kepadaku Kesudahan telah datang bagi umat-Ku Israel Aku tidak akan memaafkannya lagi
