Hormatilah ayahmu dan ibumu supaya lanjut umurmu di tanah yang diberikan TUHAN Allahmu kepadamu

dan supaya lanjut umurmu di tanah yang dijanjikan TUHAN dengan sumpah kepada nenek moyangmu untuk memberikannya kepada mereka dan kepada keturunan mereka suatu negeri yang berlimpah-limpah susu dan madunya

Setidak-tidaknya induk itu haruslah kaulepaskan tetapi anak-anaknya boleh kauambil Maksudnya supaya baik keadaanmu dan lanjut umurmu
