Pada waktu itu ketika Mordekhai duduk di pintu gerbang istana raja sakit hatilah Bigtan dan Teresh dua orang sida-sida raja yang termasuk golongan penjaga pintu lalu berikhtiarlah mereka untuk membunuh raja Ahasyweros
