Ester tidak memberitahukan kebangsaan dan asal usulnya karena dilarang oleh Mordekhai

tetapi ia menganggap dirinya terlalu hina untuk membunuh hanya Mordekhai saja karena orang telah memberitahukan kepadanya kebangsaan Mordekhai itu Jadi Haman mencari ikhtiar memunahkan semua orang Yahudi yakni bangsa Mordekhai itu di seluruh kerajaan Ahasyweros
