2 Chronicles 30:1

Kemudian Hizkia mengirim pesan kepada seluruh Israel dan Yehuda bahkan menulis surat kepada Efraim dan Manasye supaya mereka datang merayakan Paskah bagi TUHAN Allah orang Israel di rumah TUHAN di Yerusalem

Maka berangkatlah pesuruh-pesuruh cepat ke seluruh Israel dan Yehuda membawa surat dari raja dan para pemimpin dan mengatakan sesuai dengan perintah raja Hai orang Israel kembalilah kepada TUHAN Allah Abraham Ishak dan Israel maka Ia akan kembali kepada yang tertinggal dari pada kamu yakni mereka yang terluput dari tangan raja-raja Asyur

Oleh sebab itulah hari-hari itu disebut Purim menurut kata pur Oleh sebab itu jugalah yakni karena seluruh isi surat itu dan karena apa yang dilihat mereka mengenai hal itu dan apa yang dialami mereka

Lalu Ester sang ratu anak Abihail menulis surat bersama-sama dengan Mordekhai orang Yahudi itu surat yang kedua tentang hari raya Purim ini dituliskannya dengan segala ketegasan untuk menguatkannya
