Ketika mereka pergi dari padanya mereka meninggalkannya dengan luka-luka berat pegawai-pegawainya mengadakan persepakatan terhadap dia karena darah anak imam Yoyada itu lalu membunuhnya di atas tempat tidurnya Ia mati dan dikuburkan di kota Daud tetapi tidak di pekuburan raja-raja
