Nabi Semaya datang kepada Rehabeam dan pemimpin-pemimpin Yehuda yang berkumpul di Yerusalem berhubung dengan ancaman Sisak dan berkata kepada mereka Beginilah firman TUHAN Kamu telah meninggalkan Aku oleh sebab itu Akupun meninggalkan kamu juga dalam kuasa Sisak
