Naaman membawa surat itu kepada Raja Israel yang berbunyi Jadi dengan sampainya surat ini kepadamu ketahuilah bahwa aku mengutus Naaman pegawaiku menghadapmu untuk disembuhkan dari penyakit kustanya

Saat Elisa nabi Allah itu mendengar bahwa Raja Israel mengoyakkan pakaiannya dia mengirim pesan kepada raja yang berbunyi Mengapa engkau mengoyakkan pakaianmu Biarlah dia datang kepadaku supaya dia mengetahui bahwa ada nabi di Israel

Namun dia tidak menghukum mati anak-anak pembunuh itu seperti yang tertulis dalam kitab Taurat Musa sebagaimana yang diperintahkan oleh TUHAN yang berbunyi Janganlah ayah dihukum mati karena anaknya dan janganlah anak dihukum mati karena ayahnya Namun setiap orang harus dihukum mati karena dosanya sendiri

Lalu Yoas raja Israel mengirim orang kepada Amazia raja Yehuda dengan berkata Rumput duri yang ada di Gunung Lebanon mengirim pesan kepada pohon Aras yang ada di Gunung Lebanon yang berbunyi Berikanlah anak-anakmu perempuan kepada anak-anak laki-lakiku untuk menjadi istrinya Namun binatang hutan yang ada di Gunung Lebanon melewatinya dan menginjak-injak rumput berduri itu

Inilah firman TUHAN yang telah Dia firmankan kepada Yehu yang berbunyi Sampai keturunan keempat anak-anakmu akan duduk di takhta Israel Lalu terjadilah demikian
