Pada waktu itu Yerobeam keluar dari Yerusalem Nabi Ahia orang Silo itu bertemu dia di jalan dan dia berselubungkan kain baru serta hanya ada mereka berdua di padang

Demikianlah raja tidak mendengarkan rakyat itu karena perubahan peristiwa itu terjadi dari TUHAN sesuai firman yang telah disampaikan-Nya melalui Ahia orang Silo kepada Yerobeam anak Nebat

Saat dia menjadi raja dia membunuh seluruh keluarga Yerobeam Dia tidak meninggalkan siapa pun yang hidup dari keturunan Yerobeam sampai dia memusnahkannya sesuai dengan firman TUHAN yang telah Dia firmankan melalui hamba-Nya Ahia orang Silo
