Pada malam hari Abimelekh dan seluruh rakyat yang menyertainya berangkat dan menyiapkan penyergapan terhadap Sikhem dalam empat pasukan

Dia membawa rakyatnya lalu dibaginya menjadi tiga pasukan lalu mereka mengadakan penyergapan di padang Ketika dilihatnya orang-orang itu keluar dari kota dia bangkit menyerang dan menewaskan mereka
