Gideon menyuruh beberapa pesuruh ke seluruh Pegunungan Efraim dengan pesan Turunlah untuk menyerang orang Midian dan rebutlah sungai-sungai sampai ke Bet-Bara serta Sungai Yordan Lalu semua orang Efraim dikerahkan untuk merebut sungai-sungai sampai ke Bet-Bara serta Sungai Yordan
