Sebab orang Israel berjalan di padang belantara 40 tahun lamanya sampai seluruh bangsa itu habis mati yaitu prajurit yang keluar dari Mesir yang tidak patuh terhadap perkataan TUHAN TUHAN bersumpah kepada mereka bahwa mereka tidak akan melihat negeri yang TUHAN janjikan dengan bersumpah kepada nenek moyang mereka untuk memberikan kepada kita suatu negeri yang berlimpah-limpah susu dan madunya
