Numbers 5:18

Imam harus menyuruh wanita itu berdiri di hadapan TUHAN dengan rambut terurai dan meletakkan kurban sajian pengingat yaitu kurban sajian kecemburuan ke tangan wanita itu Sedang imam memegang air pahit yang mendatangkan kutuk

Numbers 5:19

Kemudian imam harus meminta wanita itu bersumpah dengan berkata Apabila tidak ada laki-laki lain yang melakukan hubungan denganmu dan jika kamu tidak menyimpang pada kenajisan di belakang suamimu kamu akan terbebas dari air pahit yang mendatangkan kutuk ini

Kemudian imam harus menyuruh wanita itu meminum air pahit yang mendatangkan kutuk tadi Air itu akan masuk ke dalam tubuhnya dan mendatangkan rasa pahit
