Raja menjawab dan berkata kepada orang-orang Kasdim itu Hal itu sudah pergi dariku Jika kamu tidak memberitahukan mimpi itu dan maknanya kamu akan dipenggal menjadi beberapa bagian dan rumahmu akan dijadikan timbunan puing

Daniel 2:26

Raja menjawab dan berkata kepada Daniel yang dinamai Beltsazar Apakah engkau mampu memberitahukannya kepadaku mimpi yang telah kulihat itu dan maknanya

Namun bagiku rahasia ini disingkapkan kepadaku bukan karena hikmat yang ada padaku melebihi semua yang hidup tetapi agar maknanya dapat diberitahukan kepada Tuanku Raja dan supaya engkau mengenal pikiran-pikiran dalam hati Tuanku

Kemudian para ahli ilmu gaib para ahli mantra orang-orang Kasdim dan para peramal datang kepadaku Dan aku menceritakan mimpi itu kepada mereka tetapi mereka tidak dapat memberitahukan maknanya kepadaku

Lalu Daniel yang dinamai Beltsazar tercengang beberapa saat ketika pikiran-pikirannya menggelisahkan dia Raja berbicara dan katanya Beltsazar jangan biarkan mimpi dan maknanya itu menggelisahkanmu Beltsazar menjawab dan berkata Tuanku biarlah mimpi itu berlaku atas musuh Tuanku dan maknanya atas musuh Tuanku

Saat ini orang-orang bijak dan para ahli mantra telah dibawa kepadaku supaya mereka dapat membaca tulisan ini dan memberitahukan maknanya kepadaku tetapi mereka tidak sanggup memberitahukan makna dari pesan itu
