Akan tetapi merpati itu tidak menemukan tempat untuk bertengger sehingga ia kembali kepada Nuh di dalam bahtera itu karena air masih ada di seluruh permukaan bumi Nuh mengulurkan tangannya untuk menangkap merpati itu dan memasukannya ke bahtera
