Dan mereka berkata Orang itu bertanya secara teliti kepada kami tentang keluarga kita katanya Apakah ayahmu masih hidup Apakah kalian mempunyai seorang adik Lalu kami menceritakan kepadanya berdasarkan perkataan-perkataan mulutnya itu Jadi dapatkah kami tahu bahwa dia akan berkata Bawalah adikmu

Dia mengambil sepasang sapi memotong-motongnya lalu mengirimnya ke seluruh daerah Israel melalui perantaraan pesuruh dengan pesan Siapa yang tidak maju mengikuti Saul dan mengikuti Samuel seperti inilah yang akan dilakukan terhadap sapi-sapinya Kemudian TUHAN mendatangkan ketakutan kepada bangsa itu sehingga mereka maju secara serentak
