Esther 4:1

Saat Mordekhai mengetahui semua yang telah terjadi dia mengoyakkan pakaiannya mengenakan kain kabung dan abu dan pergi ke tengah kota sambil berteriak dengan nyaring dan pedih

Dia membesarkan Hadasa yaitu Ester anak perempuan pamannya karena dia tidak mempunyai ayah dan ibu Gadis itu elok perawakannya dan cantik parasnya Saat ayah dan ibunya meninggal Mordekhai mengambilnya sebagai anaknya sendiri
