Lalu pada hari pertama bulan ketujuh Imam Ezra membawa kitab Taurat ke hadapan jemaat baik laki-laki maupun perempuan dan semua orang yang dapat mendengar dan mengerti

Nehemiah 8:9

Kemudian Nehemia yang adalah gubernur dan Imam Ezra ahli kitab itu dan orang-orang Lewi yang mengajar orang banyak berkata kepada mereka Hari ini adalah kudus bagi TUHAN Allahmu Jangan berdukacita dan menangis Sebab semua orang menangis ketika mendengar perkataan kitab Taurat
