Semua orang berkumpul menjadi satu di tanah lapang yang ada di depan Pintu Gerbang Air Mereka meminta Ezra ahli kitab itu untuk membawa kitab Taurat Musa yang telah TUHAN berikan kepada Israel

Nehemiah 8:3

Dia membacanya di depan tanah lapang yang berada di depan Pintu Gerbang Air dari pagi sampai tengah hari di hadapan semua laki-laki dan perempuan dan orang-orang yang dapat mengerti Semua orang mendengarkan kitab Taurat dengan penuh perhatian

Lalu orang banyak pergi ke luar dan mengambilnya lalu membangun pondok-pondok mereka masing-masing di atas atap rumah mereka di halaman rumah mereka dan di pelataran-pelataran bait Allah di tanah lapang Pintu Gerbang Air dan Pintu Gerbang Efraim
