Raja tidak mendengarkan permintaan rakyat sebab hal itu memang ditetapkan oleh Allah supaya TUHAN menepati firman yang Dia ucapkan kepada Yerobeam anak Nebat melalui Ahia orang Silo

Setelah seluruh Israel melihat bahwa raja tidak mendengarkan permintaan mereka maka rakyat menjawab raja Bagian apa yang kami dapat dari Daud Kami tidak mendapat warisan dari anak Isai itu Pulanglah ke tendamu masing-masing hai Israel Uruslah keluargamu sendiri hai Daud Semua orang Israel pulang ke tendanya
