Namun malam itu firman Allah datang kepada Natan yang berbunyi

Namun dia tidak membunuh anak-anak mereka melainkan bertindak sesuai dengan apa yang tertulis dalam Taurat yaitu kitab Musa tempat TUHAN memberi perintah yang berbunyi Janganlah ayah mati karena anaknya dan janganlah anak mati karena ayahnya tetapi setiap orang harus mati karena dosanya sendiri
