For all the people <05971> wept <01058> (8802), when they heard <08085> (8800) the words <01697> of the law <08451>. {the Tirshatha: or, the governor}
NASB : Then Nehemiah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest \i1 and\i0 scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people, "This day is holy to the LORD your God; do not mourn or weep." For all the people were weeping when they heard the words of the law.
