Kemudian Ahab membuat patung Asyera bahkan banyak hal yang lain sehingga dia membangkitkan murka Tuhan Allah Israel lebih daripada semua Raja Israel yang pernah ada sebelum dirinya

Dia membina kembali bukit-bukit pemujaan yang sudah dimusnahkan oleh Hizkia ayahnya lalu didirikannya pelbagai mazbah iaitu tempat pembakaran korban bagi Baal serta dibuatnya patung Asyera seperti yang dilakukan Ahab raja Israel Dia sujud menyembah segala benda langit dan beribadat kepadanya

Diangkutnya patung Asyera dari Bait Tuhan ke luar Yerusalem ke Sungai Kidron lalu dibakarnya di tepi Sungai Kidron Setelah itu ditumbuknya menjadi debu dan dicampakkannya debu itu ke atas kuburan rakyat jelata

Jeremiah 17:2

sementara anak-anak mereka mengenang mazbah dan patung Asyera mereka di samping pokok-pokok yang rimbun di atas bukit-bukit yang tinggi
