Yerobeam menetapkan suatu hari raya iaitu pada hari kelima belas dalam bulan kelapan sama seperti hari raya di Yehuda dan dia sendiri naik ke mazbah Demikianlah yang dilakukannya di Betel Dia mempersembahkan korban kepada anak-anak lembu yang dibuatnya itu Di Betel dia juga menugaskan para imam di bukit-bukit pemujaan yang dibuatnya
