Dia juga membuat kuil di bukit-bukit pemujaan dan mengangkat imam daripada kalangan rakyat yang bukan daripada bani Lewi

Yerobeam masih tidak berbalik daripada jalannya yang jahat walaupun sesudah terjadinya peristiwa itu Sebaliknya dia mengangkat pula daripada kalangan rakyat imam untuk bukit pemujaan dan melantik sesiapa sahaja yang mahu menjadi imam di bukit pemujaan
