Tetapi raja berasa sayang kepada Mefiboset anak Yonatan anak Saul kerana ada sumpah demi Tuhan antara mereka iaitu antara Daud dengan Yonatan anak Saul

Jeremiah 21:7

Sesudah itu demikianlah firman Tuhan Aku akan menyerahkan Zedekia raja Yehuda berserta para pegawainya dan rakyat kota ini yang terselamat daripada wabak penyakit pedang dan bencana kebuluran ke dalam tangan Nebukadnezar raja Babel ke dalam tangan musuh-musuh mereka dan ke dalam tangan orang yang mengancam nyawa mereka Dia akan membantai mereka dengan mata pedang tanpa berasa hiba kepada mereka tanpa berasa sayang dan tanpa belas kasihan

Zechariah 11:6

Aku tidak akan lagi berasa sayang kepada penduduk negeri ini demikianlah firman Tuhan Sesungguhnya Aku akan menyerahkan setiap daripada mereka ke tangan jirannya dan ke tangan rajanya Mereka akan menghancurkan negeri ini dan Aku tidak akan melepaskan seorang pun daripada tangan mereka
