Jawab Absalom kepada Yoab Sesungguhnya aku telah menyuruh orang untuk menemuimu dengan pesan Datanglah ke mari supaya aku dapat mengutus engkau kepada raja untuk bertanya Apakah gunanya hamba datang dari Gesur Lebih baik hamba tetap tinggal di sana Jadi sekarang biarlah aku datang menghadap raja Jika aku bersalah aku rela dihukum mati
