berkatalah raja kepada nabi Natan Lihatlah aku ini tinggal dalam rumah kayu araz walhal tabut Allah tinggal di dalam khemah

2 Samuel 7:7

Ke mana-mana jua sahaja Aku mengembara bersama dengan seluruh orang Israel pernahkah Kukatakan kepada mana-mana hakim yang Kuperintahkan menggembala umat-Ku Israel Mengapakah kamu tidak membina bagi-Ku sebuah bait daripada kayu araz

Dia melapisi dinding sebelah di dalam bait itu dengan papan kayu araz dari lantai bait sampai ke alang silingnya manakala lantai bait itu dilapisinya dengan papan kayu sanubar

Kemudian di bahagian belakang bait itu dibuatnya ruang belakang sepanjang dua puluh hasta dengan disekat papan kayu araz dari lantai sampai ke gelegarnya untuk dijadikan Tempat Yang Maha Suci

Kayu araz pada bahagian dalam bait itu berukiran buah labu dan bunga yang mengembang Semuanya daripada kayu araz dan tiada batu yang kelihatan

Ruang dalaman itu sepanjang dua puluh hasta selebar dua puluh hasta dan setinggi dua puluh hasta Disalutnya ruang itu dengan emas murni lalu disalutnya juga mazbah dengan kayu araz

Dibinanya laman dalam dengan tiga lajur batu pahat dan satu lajur gelegar kayu araz

Bangunan yang dinamakannya Istana Hutan Lebanon itu sepanjang seratus hasta dan selebar lima puluh hasta manakala tingginya tiga puluh hasta Gedung ini disangga oleh empat deret tiang kayu araz dengan gelegar kayu araz di atas tiang-tiang itu

Dari sisi atas gedung ini ditutup dengan langit-langit kayu araz Kayu araz itu ditempatkan di atas empat puluh lima batang gelegar yang disangga oleh tiang-tiang tadi lima belas gelegar sederet

Kemudian dibuatnya Balai Singgahsana iaitu Balai Pengadilan tempat dia memutuskan hukum Balai itu dipapankan dengan kayu araz dari lantai sampai ke langit-langit

Di bahagian atasnya pun terdapat batu-batu mahal iaitu batu yang dipahat menurut ukuran tertentu dan kayu araz

Pelataran besar dikelilingi oleh tiga lajur batu pahat dan satu lajur gelegar kayu araz serupa dengan pelataran dalam Bait Tuhan dan serambi bait itu
