Kemudian bersiaplah mereka dan maju menurut jumlahnya iaitu dua belas orang daripada suku Benyamin dan daripada Isyboset anak Saul serta dua belas orang daripada anak buah Daud

Maka sangat marahlah Abner kerana kata-kata Isyboset itu Katanya Adakah aku ini kepala anjing dari Yehuda Sampai kini aku telah menunjukkan kesetiaan kepada keluarga Saul ayahmu kepada saudara-saudaranya dan kepada sahabat-sahabatnya Aku tidak menyerahkan engkau ke dalam tangan Daud Namun demikian pada hari ini engkau menuduh aku bersalah dengan seorang perempuan

Anak-anak Rimon orang Beerot itu yakni Rekhab dan Baana berangkat ke rumah Isyboset dan tiba di situ pada hari yang panas terik Ketika itu Isyboset sedang berehat tengah hari
