Apabila seluruh kawanan ternakan siap terkumpul di sana barulah para gembala akan menggolekkan batu itu daripada mulut perigi lalu memberikan minum kepada kawanan domba mereka Setelah selesai kerja itu batu berkenaan dialihkan semula ke tempatnya di mulut perigi itu

Maka Yakub yang melihat ketibaan Rahel anak perempuan Laban berserta kawanan domba Laban pun pergi menggolekkan batu daripada mulut perigi itu lalu diberinya minum kepada kawanan domba Laban saudara ibunya itu
