Lalu kata Daud kepada Yonatan Esok bulan baru maka perlulah aku makan berhadapan dengan raja Tetapi biarkanlah aku pergi menyembunyikan diri di padang sampai malam lusa

Kemudian Yonatan berkata kepada Daud Demi Tuhan Allah Israel aku akan merisik apakah sikap sebenar ayahku esok atau lusa pada waktu seperti ini Jika memang baik keadaannya bagi Daud masakan aku tidak menyuruh orang kepadamu dan menyatakannya kepadamu
