Saul dan pasukannya menyelamatkan Agag kawanan domba dan kawanan lembu yang terbaik ternakan dan anak domba yang gemuk-gemuk serta segala sesuatu yang berharga Dia tidak mahu menumpaskan seluruhnya Tetapi segala haiwan yang tidak berharga dan yang buruk itulah yang ditumpaskan mereka

Jawab Saul Semua itu dibawa daripada orang Amalek Rakyat menyelamatkan kawanan domba dan kawanan lembu yang terbaik untuk dipersembahkan sebagai korban di hadapan Tuhan Allahmu Tetapi yang selebihnya sudah kami bunuh
