Kata Samuel kepada Saul Perbuatanmu itu bodoh Engkau tidak mengikuti perintah Tuhan Allahmu yang diperintahkan-Nya kepadamu Andainya kamu patuh memang Tuhan tetap akan mengukuhkan kerajaanmu atas orang Israel buat selama-lamanya

Tetapi sekarang pemerintahan dan kerajaanmu tidak akan tetap Tuhan telah memilih seorang yang berkenan dalam hati-Nya dan Tuhan telah menunjuk dia untuk menjadi raja atas umat-Nya kerana engkau tidak mengikuti apa yang diperintahkan Tuhan kepadamu

kerana aku tetap mengikuti jalan-jalan Tuhan dan tidak menyeleweng daripada Allahku dengan melakukan kejahatan
