Selain itu tabut Allah pun dirampas dan kedua-dua anak Eli iaitu Hofni dan Pinehas terbunuh

Pada waktu itu menantu perempuannya iaitu isteri Pinehas sedang mengandung dan hampir bersalin Apabila perempuan itu mendengar khabar tentang tabut Allah yang telah dirampas dan tentang mertuanya serta suaminya yang telah meninggal dia pun berlutut lalu melahirkan anaknya kerana tiba-tiba dia dilanda rasa sakit bersalin
