Genesis 3:14

Maka berfirmanlah Tuhan Allah kepada ular itu Atas sebab perbuatan engkau itu terkutuklah engkau melebihi segala haiwan ternakan dan binatang liar Engkau akan menjalar dengan perutmu dan engkau akan makan debu tanah seumur hidupmu

Genesis 3:17

Firman-Nya kepada Adam Kerana engkau menurut kata isterimu lalu memakan buah daripada pokok yang telah Kuperintahkan kepadamu Jangan engkau makan buahnya maka terkutuklah tanah kerana kau Engkau akan bersusah payah mengerjakan tanah dan memakan hasilnya seumur hidupmu

Sekarang terkutuklah kamu terbuang jauh dari tanah yang telah membuka mulutnya untuk menerima darah adikmu yang ditumpahkan tanganmu

Sekarang terkutuklah kamu Orangmu tidak akan putus-putusnya menjadi hamba pembelah kayu dan penimba air bagi rumah Allahku

Sekarang sudilah Tuanku Raja mendengar kata-kata hambanya ini Jika Tuhan yang menggerakkan tuanku untuk melawan hamba biarlah Dia menerima suatu persembahan Tetapi jika itu manusia terkutuklah mereka di hadapan Tuhan kerana pada hari ini mereka menghalau hamba dengan berkata Pergilah beribadatlah kepada tuhan lain sehingga hamba tidak mendapat bahagian dalam milik pusaka Tuhan
