Berkatalah Gaal anak Ebed Abimelekh itu siapa dan kita orang Sikhem siapa untuk kita menjadi hambanya Bukankah dia anak Yerubaal dan bukankah Zebul pegawainya Merekalah hamba bani Hamor iaitu ayah Sikhem maka mengapakah kita yang menjadi hambanya

Jawab Zebul kepadanya Di manakah mulutmu yang bercakap besar Abimelekh itu siapa maka kita harus menjadi hambanya Bukankah itu orang yang kamu hina Nah sekarang keluarlah untuk memerangi mereka
