Tolong katakan kepada kesemua pemimpin kota Sikhem Yang manakah lebih baik bagimu sama ada tujuh puluh orang iaitu semua anak Yerubaal memerintah kamu atau seorang sahaja yang memerintah kamu Dan ingatlah bahawa aku darah dagingmu

Judges 9:3

Lalu para saudara ibunya menyampaikan segala hal itu bagi pihaknya kepada kesemua pemimpin kota Sikhem dan mereka cenderung untuk mengikuti Abimelekh kerana kata mereka Memang dia saudara kita

Yotam yang diberitahu hal itu pergi lalu berdiri di puncak Gunung Gerizim lalu berseru dengan nyaring Dengarlah seruanku wahai para pemimpin Sikhem agar Allah juga kelak akan mendengar kamu

Maka masuklah para pemimpin kota Menara-Sikhem yang mendengar berita itu ke dalam ruang di bawah kuil El-Berit
