Maka Gideon berkata lagi kepada-Nya Sekiranya aku mendapat kasih kurnia di mata-Mu berikanlah tanda kepadaku bahawa Engkau sendiri yang berfirman kepadaku

Pergilah Gideon menemui bani Sukot sambil berkata Inilah Zebah dan Salmuna yang menjadi penyebab kamu mencela aku dengan berkata Sudahkah Zebah dan Salmuna itu dalam tanganmu sehingga kami harus memberikan roti kepada tenteramu yang keletihan itu

Berkatalah Gideon Mereka itu saudara-saudaraku anak-anak ibuku Demi Tuhan yang hidup jika kamu membiarkan mereka hidup aku tidak akan membunuh kamu
